School Sharks

Everything you should know about the inspiration for our cause.

Overview

School sharks are a species of shark in the Triakidae family. They are known by many names including soupfin shark, tope shark, and their scientific name, galeorhinus galeus. You can identify a school shark by their distinctive notched caudal tail, slanted eyes, and second dorsal fin.

Diet

School sharks feed on many kinds of fish, such as sardines, midshipmen, tune, squid, herring, and more. Also, they are harmless to humans due to their small size and preference to small prey!

Prey

Their most common predator in the wild are the white shark, and other larger sharks. Although, these are a school shark’s natural predators, they are more likely to be killed by the hands of humans.
